“12 Things About Jennifer O’Regan”
Confessions of a Bookaholic
1. I shoot a mean three-pointer!
2. Prior to moving to Washington, DC, my husband and I resided in
Newport, RI.
3. We were married in Newport as well and our wedding song was
"Lucky"--which is indicative of how I feel pretty much every day. ;)
4. I walk my dogs, sans makeup,
donning a ballerina bun and printed pajama pants. Here's hoping none of my
neighbors feel the urge to Instagram my fashion choices one of these mornings.
5. My all-time favorite movie is The
Shawshank Redemption.
6. I am not a fan of confined spaces. Subsequently, I'm a terrible
flyer. (Think Kristin Wiig in Bridesmaids.)
7. Most nights you can find me nestled on the couch with my hubby and
our fur babies, Annabelle and Allie.
8. My iPod contains everything from Bruno
Mars to Sia to Jason Mraz.
9. I am a voracious reader but I have been
known to binge watch good TV (Better Call Saul, House of Cards,
Orange is the New Black, True Detective).
10.The Wounded
Warriors Project is a charity near and dear to my heart. I'm running an 8K in
support of our veterans this summer.
11.A four-year-old
girl in Starbucks once mistook me for Queen Elsa of Arendelle. You might say
she's my celebrity doppelgänger.
12.I am a roller
coaster junkie. I have ridden some of the tallest and fastest coasters in the
world--including this bad boy at Cedar Point.

ReplyDeleteI saw pictures of people waiting in long lines outside of Target. I had no idea about the Lilly Pulitzer items being sold there!

ReplyDeleteYou have great taste, Susie! ;)
DeleteI want to ride a roller coaster with Jennifer! I'm a complete roller coaster junkie and since having kids in 2007, I haven't been on a roller coaster. I miss the feeling something terrible.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing Jennifer! Love your blog and all your book suggestions. Good Luck with the 8k!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so, so much! xoxo
DeleteHi Jennifer! Nice to see you here! Shawshank is right up there on my list also. And I used to love roller coasters when I was younger.......after I had children, I got to be a scaredy cat because I knew I had to be around to take care of them. I also always wanted to drive race cars.......
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet Bonnie! xoxo
DeleteGreat post! Love Jennifer's passion. I live in Northern Virginia near DC, so would love to meet her someday.
ReplyDeleteI would love that, Kelly! xoxo
DeleteHave you seen the parody of Shawshank Redemption on Family Guy? It's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check it out, Laurice! Thank you! xo
DeleteSomething about me? I'm 23. I became a mom at 16. I have a 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son. I love them with my whole heart. I married my husband (who's the father of my children and my high school sweetheart) last year on 12-13-14. I love our life. We just bought a new car, I graduated college last year, and most of our days are filled with adventures with our kids, ballet & tap classes, movie nights, ice cream dates, and generally loving life. Oh and we are all avid bookworms! My kids and I could lose an afternoon shopping in a bookstore! <3
ReplyDeleteAshlee, we have a lot in common. I had my first child at 17 and then my second at 19. My oldest is now 23! It sounds like you are an amazing mom. Kudos to you my friend. xoxo
DeleteI also have a great of flying and I don't think I would even go back on a plane if you paid me to! Ha ha
ReplyDeleteLOL, Kristy! xo
DeleteI love following you on FB and learning about the new books and the giveaways BUT I also enjoy seeing your fur babies. Keep up the good work and blessings!
ReplyDeleteAww! Thank you, Connie! xoxo
Deletei enjoy your reading recomendations
ReplyDeletexoxo
DeleteI am totally addicted to books.
ReplyDeleteI also love roller coasters even though I'm a little afraid of heights!
ReplyDeletexoxo
DeleteI love to read and I have passed that passion down to my 13 year old daughter Taylor!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! xo
DeleteIsn't that a wonderful gift that you can give a child? I've always made it a priority to get books in my childrens hands. My 23 yr old is even pursuing medicine because he's read up so much on it.
DeleteI met my soul mate when I was 24. We dated for two months, and were engaged for two months before we got married. We have been married for 11 years and we have three children.
ReplyDeletexoxo
DeleteAwwwww. I met my hubby 15 yrs ago and have been married for almost 12 yrs now!
DeleteLove Shawshank as well and have been a Rollercoaster fan since my best friend in 8th grade broke my fear by making me ride front row in the screaming eagle! My boys now share the love of coasters w my dad. Love all the book reviews. Help when buying gifts for my mum.
ReplyDeleteI am terrified of roller coasters but I love, love, love to read! Jennifer's recommendations are spot on!
ReplyDeleteThank you so, so much! xoxo
DeleteI always enjoy reading your blogs. As a mother of a 2 1/2 year old and baby number 2 on the way, I don't get as much free time to read as I would like. But I have purchased so many books from reading your posts that I will make sure I finish. Sometimes it can take me over a month to finish a book, but at least my mind is at ease knowing I finally finished! I'm so glad my son loves to be read to, makes his reading time enjoyable for both of us. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle. You're too sweet. I feel your pain. I have a 5 yr old and she doesn't leave much time for reading. I have to sneak in the bathroom sometimes just to get a few pages in ;) When is baby number two due? Congrats!
DeleteI love this entire post & love Jennifer!! Shawshank is my favorite movie too & last summer we went to Ohio to see the prison!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, sweet Becky! xoxo
DeleteThis is an awesome interview! I am a huge fan of Jennifer as she seems to be one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever come into contact with (virtually that is...I haven't met her but I have a feeling we would get along great!). Your blog has also become one of my favorites to follow....so two for one today :)!
ReplyDeleteOkay, let's see....something about me...hmmmmm.....this is hard! Okay okay....I am obviously a huge reader as I follow both of you, but when I'm not reading or doing all those things in life we have to do, I also really like to cross stitch. I've been doing that since high school and given my choice activities my husband says I'm like a young old lady :)! I also love to binge watch great TV shows (I just finished all the seasons of Mad Men on Netflix so I'm excited to watch the last season that just came out). Thanks for this incredible giveaway!
You are too sweet, Colleen! Much love! xoxo
DeleteYou are obviously much more talented than me. I tried cross stitching several times. What a knotted mess it turned out to be. What I used to enjoy doing as a kid was latch hooking. That I was able to do :)
DeleteLove this post. My ipod also contains an eclectic variety of music. My favorite movie of all time is Six Pack. Most people don't know it.
ReplyDeleteI'm an identical twin but you should've seen the roller coasters at Hershey Park where we just spent the day on Saturday - we rode like crazy! Jenny would have loved it!
ReplyDeleteHow cool. Growing up I wished I had a twin!
DeleteHershey Park is THE BEST! xo
DeleteI am a huge bookworm! I have 3 kids and a husband I adore! God is good!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been blessed Amy! xoxo
DeleteI grew up and currently live in the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area but four years ago our family lived in Providence, RI for a year. I loved living in the Northeast! My son was born there too so Rhode Island will always hold a special place in my heart.
ReplyDeleteMine too! xoxo
DeleteHmmmmmmmmmm...something about me? I bought a LOT of Peeps on clearance after Easter. Don't judge and I'll share!
ReplyDeleteOMG a woman after my own heart. I have a bit of a peep addiction too. For me, it has to be the pink bunnies. No other color will do and it can't be the chicks ;)
DeleteI used to love reading, but it fell by the wayside when I went back to school & in the middle of that had a baby. Baby is now 4, school is over and I'm getting back into it... slowly. It's hard to read a book, kick a soccer ball, play candy land and watch Jake & the neverland pirates at the same time... unless it's Dr. Seuss. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain Tracy. Being a mom, working full time and attempting at a life, I don't have much time. I sometimes sneak into the bathroom to read. TMI?
DeleteAmazon is a dangerous place for me. Books aside...I think I have spent more money buying things for our upcoming Disney vacation than the actual vacation...is that possible? :-}
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem. I could go bankrupt perusing through Amazon's website.
DeleteI love reading!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love to read!! Luckily my teenage daughter also hares that love. I follow Jennifer on FB and enjoy seeing which books she puts up and tells about. I have read several that she recommended since my friend Kim told me about her. She is so awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI have three beautiful grandchildren and their first names all start with the letter E.
ReplyDeleteI've known Jen since junior high and she is truly a beautiful person inside and out!
ReplyDeleteAs are you, my beautiful friend! Much love! xoxo
DeleteI hope to meet Jenny some day. I'm sure it will happen. I just hope it's sooner than later.
DeleteJust bought a new home and currently painting the interior.
ReplyDeleteMy books are taking over my house😃
ReplyDeleteI am a mama of a big family, homesteader, avid reader, gardener. Love history, love life <3
ReplyDeleteI love what you did at Hopkins!
ReplyDeleteDenise
My husband thinks I have too many books--I just gave a basket of books for the Bull Roast raffle yesterday. lol. Didn't put a dent in my book pile.
DeleteDenise
Thank you so, so much! I remain infinitely indebted to JH for everything they did for my husband! xoxo
DeleteEven though I was born in Iowa and spent half of my life growing up there, I consider Florida my home as that is where I really grew up aka matured. I am all for the small town living (for raising a family) but I do not like snow and I love the big city with endless opportunities. I pass on a lot of opportunities because I don't want to go where it snows LOL I love my sunshine!
ReplyDeleteI can relate Uma. I have lived in Upstate NY for 35 yrs and soooo want to move to where I never have to see snow again.
DeleteI follow your Facebook page and love it! I especially love all the photos of contest winners :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a freelance copy editor living in Nova Scotia. Most of my time is spent reading, writing, hanging out in local coffee shops, and obsessing over all things literary!
Thank you, lovely Melanie! xoxo
DeleteSomething about me.......I am finally a Mother, after 12 years of trying! We are blessed with a beautiful baby girl!!
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful! xo
DeleteWhat a blessing Amy! Congrats!
DeleteI love reading and working in my garden.
ReplyDeleteMy books-to-read list has gotten tremendously longer ever since I became friends with Jennifer on Facebook. Am I complaining? Heck no!! Keep 'em coming!! I might not get to them all in my lifetime but I'll have fun trying!! I do need more book cases, though!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're a doll, Letty! xoxo
DeleteAn avid reader and a summer person.
ReplyDeleteWhile "Shawshank" definitely is among my favorite films, I lean more toward screwball comedy. My all-time favorite movie is "Some Like It Hot," and visiting the Hotel Del Coronado was the highlight of my visit to San Diego two years ago. My favorite memory is sitting in one of the common areas of the Del's ocean towers building and (from hundreds of miles away from home) nailing the telephone job interview my employer had granted ... I was offered the promotion the next morning and love my new position!
ReplyDeleteI am an avid reader and enjoy following this blog and also Jennifer's posts.
ReplyDeleteLove to you, sweet Ann! xoxo
DeleteI read over 200 books a year!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! xo
DeleteSomething about me, hmm. I'm a total gym junkie. I love working out, especially spinning. I've recently started taking crossfit classes since last October and it's very hard for me to go because it's completely out of my comfort zone but I love the challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl! xoxo
DeleteI wish you lived closer to me Jessica. Maybe you could motivate me to go to the gym!
DeleteWell you both look amazing so whatever you're doing is working. =]
DeleteJenny, I love reading & roller coasters, too! I love riding so much that my first question to my cardiologist after I had to have a pacemaker put in was, "Will I still be able to ride the roller coasters?" Thankfully she said "yes!".
ReplyDeleteYou are AWESOME, Cindy! xoxo
DeleteThe Shawshank Redemption is awesome. My husband and I watch it often. Great acting. Another one I really like is The Green Mile. I love the group name of Book Sisters. As I don't have a sister, sharing the love of books with other women is the next best thing. I used to love roller coasters, but I don't enjoy it any more. I don't enjoy flying, either. It feels too much like being in a can of sardines. There's always someone practically in my lap. I do love road trips, though. I would love to drive across the country someday. Love you guys--my top three bloggers are Confessions of a Bookaholic, Book Mama and Chick Lit Central. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe love you too, Bonnie! xoxo
DeleteI have "met" some wonderful people through my blog and passion for reading. Jenny is one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. I'm so blessed to call her my blog/book sister. Also, Melissa from Chick Lit Central is another of our blog/book sisters. What's amazing is that I have formed such strong friendships with so many women who are now some of my closest friends, and yet we have yet to meet in person. Someday ...
DeleteWished there was a like button. :)
DeleteI love a HEA and steamy contemporary romances
ReplyDeleteAlways hate taking bout myself, but let's see.... I'm a mom, wife, nurse, cancer fighter, reader, shopper extraordinaire :-) can't stand mushrooms, but NEED cheese lol
ReplyDeletexoxo
DeleteYou are truly remarkable, Brandi! You sound like a strong woman and a survivor in every sense of the word. God bless you!
DeleteI've always loved reading. I own more than 1200 books (and that is after donating books I don't plan to read again!) and approximately the same number of ebooks. My "habit" got much worse than it had been when I had to stop working due to a disability. My service dog doesn't like it when I pick up a book or my tablet. She knows it is going to be a while before I come back to reality, so she just goes and lays down in her bed (I do spend a lot of time with her, but she makes it look like she is a neglected dog :( ).
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's too cute about your service dog. Maybe you should read to her and she'll be more excited when you pick up a book!
DeleteI live in Northern VA, have three kids, read excessively, blog for Bookcrush.in, and am obsessed with all things Arrow. :)
ReplyDeleteNoVA! Woot, woot! xoxo
DeleteI am a book addict, inveterate reader, all genres-fiction-nonfiction with the exception of historicals/some Steampunk.
ReplyDeleteThen I talk the ear of people convincing them to read this, that or the other to the point of loaning them the books!
Kathleen Bylsma h5apby@yahoo.com
For the past six months, I have learned so much about the variety of books out there from Jennifer, book mama and chick lit central.n thank you all! This interview of Jennifer's top things was great!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet, Jessica! Thank you! xoxo
DeleteThat's wonderful, Jessica. Being able to share books and authors that may be new to others is something that makes me truly happy. And, to know that you are finding many from Book Mama, Chick Lit Central and Jenny thrills me beyond words. CLC and Jenny are my blog sisters!!!
DeleteThank you both so much for introducing me to so many new authors! I have always loved reading but didn't seem to find the time except when I was on a vacation. Since I have been following blogs and Jenny on Facebook, I read everyday and have a huge TBR pile! Thank you and Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteLove to you, sweet Jennifer! xo
DeleteReading has always been my passion. To be able to share it with others is a true joy! I'm so glad that you enjoy following both Jenny and myself. We truly do love our readers. xoxo
DeleteLove those pictures with the fur babies. I've been thinking about getting one (or two) of my own.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Di! I hope you get a fur baby (or two!). Pure, unadulterated love. ❤️🐾
DeleteIMO Shawshank Redemption is one of the few movies that is as good as or better than the book. :-) I visited relatives many summers in Ohio and every year my parents said that we'd go to Cedar Point. We never made it. :-(
ReplyDeleteYou'll go one day, Glenda! I just know it! :)))))
DeleteHmmm...something about me? I have 2 dogs, a black pug named Wrigley and a chihuahua named Bacon. :) Oh and I LOVE books. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I love the name Bacon for the dog. I had a chihuahua named Cujo before ;)
DeleteI'm in agreement about the Shawshank Redemption...one of the few movies I will watch more than once! On the whole not so much a movie person but also like the British versions of Pride and Prejudice which I will also watch more than once. I am not though a fan of roller coasters...I'm a big coward, lol!
ReplyDeletethe first gc I ever recieved was a b&n.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a thrill seeker. I'd rather keep my feet on the ground.
ReplyDeleteAh! I love that you get Queen Else as your doppelgänger! Bette Midler is who I usually get.
ReplyDeleteI can see that, Beth! Bette's a beauty--as are you! xo
DeleteSomething's about me---I have survived Breast cancer twice. I have three adult children. 34, 33, and 30.
ReplyDeleteI love reading. A typical supper at my house when my children were little was my ex and my son watching the news, my daughters and I reading. Instead of dessert we would discuss what we were reading and my son would discuss the news. We aren't sweet eaters. Thank you for this giveaway
I am a book addict and this gift card would be amazing!! I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a bookaholic!
ReplyDeleteI am disabled and in a wheelchair, but I am extremely positive (you have to be, it helps everything that may ail you to be happy!). I'm the typical Aries though - very independent and very stubborn - I like to do what I still can myself!! And, like most others here, I love to read; it lets me transport to a whole other world!
ReplyDeleteI am another true bookaholic, especially a good chic lit novel to lift my spirits, make me laugh, or for an easy fun read! So happy to have found this blog!
ReplyDeletelike to bake
ReplyDeleteI like to read & review ;)
ReplyDeleteI am in the military and reading is my way to escape!
ReplyDeleteHope

I'm the baby of four kids: two older brothers 41, 39 and one older sister 27, 28 in September!
ReplyDeleteI love The Shawshank Redemption too. I am a huge Stephen King fan and this is one of his best. Some of his stuff, not so much. But then he writes other things that are just amazing, Shawshank being one of them. I also think The Green Mile was great as well.
ReplyDeleteI am from Romania, I am 30 years old an I am also a bookaholic.
ReplyDeleteI'm a movie, book, and music enthusiast from a vast country in the southeast Asia. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I never win anything! Thank you Book Mama and Jennifer. You two are amazing and truly make a difference in the book community.
ReplyDeleteHope
You are very welcome, Hope! Enjoy! ❤️
