Lovers At Heart - Blurb, Review & Giveaway

Lovers at Heart
The Bradens Series Book One
By: Melissa Foster

Blurb
Handsome, wealthy resort owner Treat Braden is used to getting what he wants. When Max Armstrong walked into his life six months earlier, he saw right through the efficient and capable façade she wore like a shield, to the sweet, sensual woman who lay beneath. She sparked an unfamiliar desire in him for more than a one-night stand, leaving his heart reeling and his blood boiling. But one mistake caused her to turn away, and now, after six months of longing for the one woman he cannot have, he’s going home to try to forget her all together.

Max Armstrong has a successful career, a comfortable lifestyle, and she’s never needed a man to help her find her way—until Treat Braden caught her attention at a wedding in Nassau, causing a surge of emotions too reminiscent of the painful past she’d spent years trying to forget. Max will do anything to avoid reliving that pain—including forgoing her toe-curling, heart-pounding desire for Treat.

When a chance encounter turns into a night of intense passion, Treat realizes that the mistake he made six months earlier may cause him to lose Max completely. He will do everything within his power to win her heart forever—and Max is forced to face her hurtful past head on for the man she cannot help but love.

Review by Marlene Engel
Treat knew that he had to get away from Nassau for a bit.  If he spent one more minute at his resort, he would go nuts.  What better way to unwind and take his mind off of work than a weekend at his father’s ranch?  But was it really work that he was needing a break from, or the woman who’s been occupying his thoughts for the past six months … Max Armstrong?  Treat met Max when she was organizing a wedding that was taking place at his resort.  There was something about her that made his heart thunder in his chest.  But it was his own fears that kept him from acting on those feelings.

You can imagine Treat’s surprise when he spots Max while back home in Colorado.  He knew that Max was friends with his cousin, Blake, but didn’t put two and two together that she may live in the same area.  Seeing her brought back the rush of emotions.  He knew that he wasn’t going to let this chance at getting to know Max pass him by and go through another six months of mental anguish.

The connection that Treat and Max share is undeniable, but demons from their past makes it hard for them to fully move forward.  Both have been hurt in the in different ways and are guarding their hearts, but can they let the walls down long enough to give their relationship a chance?  Or are those walls too tough to break down?

Lovers at Heart is the fourth of nine books in the Love in Bloom Series.  It focuses mainly on Max Armstrong and Treat Braden, but also introduces you to the rest of the Braden family.  I really enjoy how the characters are all strong, successful and family oriented, yet they have their own individual struggles that they’re trying to overcome.  And, like the three previous books in the series, Lovers at Heart does not disappoint in the steamy love scenes category!  Once again, Melissa Foster has provided us with an amazing story that’s nearly impossible to put down, with an alpha male who you will fall head over heels in love with!
