At twenty
four years old, Savannah Morgan is not at the place in her life that she had
hoped to be. Living in her mother’s
house and working at the library, Savannah is feeling less than fulfilled. It doesn’t help that, living in South
Carolina, she’s surrounded by rich, debutantes who don’t hesitate to put down
her modest lifestyle. Thankfully she has
her best friend, Tina, by her side.
Although Tina grew up with an endless supply of money, she was not affected
by it and she accepts Savannah for who she is.
But
everything changed one day when she gets an unexpected call regarding her
father. Growing up, Savannah never knew
who her father was. What she was about
to find out would change her life forever. The call was from her father’s attorney. She was calling to inform Savannah that her
father, Edward Stone, had passed away.
Edward was a billionaire who earned his money as the chairman and CEO of
Stone News Corporation. He was leaving a
great sum of money to Savannah … but there was a catch. She had to work at his company. Sounds simple, right? Well, not when you have to deal with two evil
step siblings. Determined to make her
time at Stone News a living hell, Ned and Caroline, did everything imaginable
to run Savannah out of NYC and back to North Carolina. But Savannah wouldn’t be scared off that
easily. She was determined to not only
stay in New York, but to prove to Ned, Caroline and all of the other naysayers
that she may not have been born a Stone, but she did have Stone in her blood.
New Money
was an amazing book to read. The story
kept me captivated and the characters were so relatable. I found myself rooting for Savannah and
wanting her to succeed. I liked how the
story brought out so many emotions.
There was a great combination of friendship, love, betrayal and
drama. I couldn’t put this book down,
but at the same time didn’t want it to end.
I would absolutely recommend this book to others. In a way it reminded me of a modern day Cinderella
story. I love, love, LOVE this
book. A must read for sure!
