Hi!
I'm a mother to three amazing kids. My oldest is twenty-eight and a doctor, I have a daughter in heaven who passed thirteen years ago, and my youngest is ten. My kids are my whole world. They come first before anything else!
My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling and volunteering.
I'm a huge advocate for the special needs population. As I stated previously, we had a special-needs daughter. She was totally blind and had multiple developmental delays. Sadly, she passed away thirteen years ago from leukemia. I am a better person because of her. She taught me to live each day to its fullest and to not take things for granted. I try to do things that would make her proud of me. I hope I'm succeeding!
I believe that people are rewarded for their kindness and beauty is measured by the heart. It only takes a second to say hello or smile at someone. Simple acts like these go a long way!
I'm an open book. If there is anything you want to know, just ask. :)
Thrilled you have a blog of your own! I can't wait to see what you have to say! You go, girl!! xoxox

ReplyDeleteYou're special Marlene. My brother has a daughter who has limited vision and is blind, with various developmental problems, and I know God send these beautiful special children only to kind people. My brother is just like you. I'm so happy to have met you online!
ReplyDeleteThank you Charmaine! God bless your brother and his daughter. Being a parent to a special needs child isn't always easy, but it is always rewarding! I, too, am glad we connected online. I have met some amazing people through my love of reading and books. Many of which are now some of my closest friends.
DeleteMarlene,
ReplyDeleteYou are a light and an inspiration. I'm so blessed to work with you. Super big hug!!
Awwww, thank you! You are too sweet. I love working with you too and look forward to proofing your next book! xoxo
DeleteYou stop by BR so often , thought I would return the favor! Great blog you have here.
ReplyDeleteIt takes adversity to truly make someone understand and be compassionate . I learned that long ago ( my older brother had muscular dystrophy, my older sister has multiple sclerosis and I had epilepsy growing up ) people used to ask if I'd have changed anything for us to grow up normal. My answer was always no because we learned a lot about people and ourselves. When David died it just made me stronger and believe that his life was meant to touch us the way he did . Accept and give strength !
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the experiences I've had to live through. God bless you and your family.
DeleteStill love your blog, Marlene. I always look forward to all your new book recommendations. Great job!
ReplyDeleteCharmaine
Thank you Charmaine! I love blogging about all things books/authors! To be able to share my passion with others is one of my greatest joys. xoxo
DeleteI just wanted to say thank you for hosting my Release Giveaway. I've been awed by the response. Blessings to you and your precious family. I hope we get to meet in-person some day!
ReplyDeleteHi there. I'm trying to join your blog but can't find where to do it. I scrolled to the bottom of the home page but don't see anything. Can you help? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi April, If you're wanting to follow the Big Mama Blog, there is a box on the right-hand side of this page that says Follow by Email. I think if you fill that out and submit, it should do the trick.
